Kittitas County Public Health Department SNAP Ed Program
About Us
Through experience providing local community health programming, the Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD) has learned that we are best positioned to impact the health of our community through policy, systems, and environmental approaches (PSE). We also recognize that we have community partners who are experts in providing direct service to families and individuals, and we do the most good by supporting the existing champions in our community. KCPHD has selected two interventions for FFY21-23. The Farmers Markets intervention focuses on increasing SNAP-eligible clients’ access to fresh produce at local farmers markets through PSE and Health Promotion strategies. The second intervention will focus on providing education and awareness of Trauma-Informed Approaches specific to the emergency food system, with an emphasis on the food and nutrition needs of clients impacted by trauma.
