On this page, you’ll find trainings that may help your direct education programming. Some of these trainings may also be relevant toward PSE activities or other work in SNAP-Ed. Ideally, there is plenty of crossover without duplication of effort among your PSE, direct education, and health promotion work. Curriculum Trainings

Walk with Ease Mini Training

This training took place June 15, 2021. This mini-training gives participants a chance to explore the Walk with Ease curriculum – both the virtual and in-person versions.
 

Important Note

The information in this training is directed to people who have already taken the self-guided online Arthritis Foundation training that is required to be a Walk with Ease leader. You can find this training here: Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease. The training costs $89. If you need financial assistance covering this, please contact the CTW at snap-ed.ctw@wsu.edu.

This mini-training gives participants further information about the requirements for implementing Walk with Ease within WA SNAP-Ed, as well as explains how to use both the virtual and in-person versions of the curriculum.

The Food Smarts curriculum has undergone some changes and in this recording, CTW gave a short briefing on those updates. If you have been trained* to use the Food Smarts curriculum and are currently using it, or plan to use it in the near future, this recording will provide updates to the curriculum. *Please note: This update briefing only applies to those that previously received training on delivering Food Smarts. This session does not meet the training requirements for new implementers.

Teen Cuisine Training

Teen Cuisine Training

Teen Cuisine is designed to teach youth (grades 6-12) important life skills to promote optimal health. The curriculum addresses key concepts about nutrition, food preparation/cooking, food safety, and physical activity by using approaches and strategies that enhance learning and behavior change among teens.

Curriculum Rubric Reveal

The CTW team unveiled the new direct education curriculum rubric. This rubric will be available for LIAs to use to help determine which curriculum is most appropriate for their communities and programs.
