Food Smarts for Recovery
Introduction to the Curriculum
Food Smarts for Recovery is a flexible nutrition education curriculum designed for group workshop series in recovery settings. The interactive activities and discussions support participants’ food and nutrition literacy, nutrition security, and their reconnection to nourishing themselves and their families as they recover from substance use disorder.
An advisory group of Washington SNAP-Ed providers and partners experienced in providing nutrition education and other services in recovery settings informed the adaptations and additional components of this curriculum based on Food Smarts.
Instructor guides support the participant workbooks. Food Smarts for Recovery facilitator training and curriculum materials are available through Leah’s Pantry.
