Introduction to the Curriculum

Garden Smarts is a flexible nutrition-focused garden education curriculum designed for leading hands-on workshops with kids, with or without outdoor space. Learners become familiar with basic concepts of gardening and stewardship as they explore the elements required to grow and prepare nutritious fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

An advisory group of Washington SNAP-Ed providers experienced in leading garden-based nutrition education informed the content, structure, and approach of this curriculum created by Leah’s Pantry.

Instructor guides support the participant workbooks. Garden Smarts materials can be ordered from Leah’s Pantry in late 2026.
