YPAR – Youth Participatory Action Research Training

This session on Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) is an on-line training for Washington State SNAP-Ed staff working or interested in working with older youth. YPAR is an approach to working with young people to research health-related concerns where they live to improve their lives, their communities, and the institutions intended to serve them. This is a four-day training and registrants need to attend all four morning sessions.

Training Dates

  • August 19, 2020

Training on each day will take place in the morning from 9:30 am-11:00 am

What the Training Includes

  • Four virtual sessions, 90 minutes in length.
  • Introduction to YPAR and how the curricula can be used
  • Walk-through of curricula and virtual facilitation of sample YPAR activities
  • Between-session application activities.
  • Each SNAP-Ed provider will receive a copy of the curricula.

About the Trainer

YPAR training will be facilitated by Elizabeth Weybright, PhD, Extension Adolescent Specialist.

Travel:

This is an online training. There is no travel required.  All you will need is access to your computer and the internet. Please note: Zoom 5.0 will need to be loaded on your device.
