The Washington State Department of Health Announces Two Changes to the Complete Eats Program at Safeway stores.
Beginning February 1, 2020:
- The coupon will print on the bottom of the receipt after a qualifying fruit and vegetable purchase, not as a separate coupon; and
- The coupon will be $3 (not $5) in most stores.
Complete Eats is available at all Safeway stores in Washington. Safeway stores in Seattle will still offer the $5 Complete Eats coupon to SNAP shoppers. Complete Eats in Seattle is partially funded by the City of Seattle’s Sweetened Beverage Tax.
How it Works:
SNAP shoppers who buy at least $10 worth of qualifying fruits and vegetables using their SNAP food benefits and their Safeway Club Card will get a coupon to save money on their next purchase. Shoppers can choose from fresh, canned and frozen fruits and vegetables, so long as the products have no added fats, sugars or salt.
The program is available now!
How Long Will the Program Last?
The program is currently running. Please monitor the Complete Eats website for program changes in the future.
