WA SNAP-Ed Curriculum Rubrics

What are Curriculum Rubrics?

Curriculum Rubrics are a helpful tool for nutrition education providers in multiple ways, including:

  1. Decision Tool: Curriculum Rubrics give a structured review tool for providers to analyze different curricula and determine which are good fits for their programs.
  2. Review & Reflect: Curriculum Rubrics are also helpful for reflecting after completing a lesson series with a curriculum. It gives information to the provider of how the curriculum worked in practice, what went well, and what additional supports could be helpful.
  3. Curricula Input: Data gathered with numerous provider review and reflection is helpful in determining which curricula to continue to approve, what curricula to potentially remove from the approved list, what trainings and other supports may be needed, and more general insight to how the curricula are working in our communities.

Curriculum Rubric

This page includes information about the Curriculum Rubric developed by Washington SNAP-Ed and used to assess curricula for adoption by Washington SNAP-Ed. CTW looked at each curriculum from an overarching, statewide lens. What was approved for the overall state may not be ideal for each community within the state. The Curriculum Rubric can be used to determine which curriculum is best suited to a specific community.

For more information on how to use the Curriculum Rubric, please see the Explanation Guide page.
