Washington State Department of Agriculture – Food Assistance SNAP Ed Program
About Us
Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Food Assistance (FA) works with over 150 groups – including food banks, community action agencies, tribes and tribal organizations, plus others – with a common goal of reducing hunger in Washington state. In addition to federal and state food assistance programs (i.e, TEFAP, EFAP, EFAP-Tribal, and CSFP), WSDA FA administers Farm to Food Bank (FTFB), Farm to Food Pantry (F2FP), and part of the Local Food Purchasing Assistance program (LFPA), which help food banks and pantries purchase locally grown produce and other foods. Our SNAP-Ed work includes quarterly Senior Nutrition newsletters, supporting local food procurement within the emergency food system, the Cook WA meal kit pilot, and connecting food pantries with nutrition resources.
