- 1/2 cup water

Live Well Tips
- Shirini means “sweet” in Kurdish and is many different desserts commonly made with milk, dates, cashews, cardamom, and butter.
- Wash all squashes before cutting them. Dirt from the outside can move to the flesh if not washed properly.
- Be careful when mixing the ingredients together, the syrup mixture gets very hot!
Directions
- Wash hands with soap and water.
- Mix together sugar and water in a large, deep pan and place on medium heat. Boil the mixture until it forms a thick syrup.
- Add diced winter squash into pan with sugar syrup, mix well. Cook in the syrup, mixing occasionally, until the mixture is almost all absorbed and the squash is tender.
- Arrange the pumpkin on a plate, garnish with walnuts and cinnamon.
